SUccess awards

The UCSU are running an awards scheme called the ‘Success Awards’. The awards will recognise the contribution of students and staff at the University of Cumbria.

Lorri Millar: "It's important students vote."

You can find out how to nominate people and see the categories at www.thestudentsunion.org.uk/success.

There are 10 categories to choose from. These range from Lecturer of the Year to Student Group Leader of the Year awards.

The awards came about after UCSU Academic Sabbatical Lorri Millar was at an NUS Conference.

She found out that they funded institutions to take part in a student-led teaching awards. Lorri told The Informer: “Its really important that students recognise the staff they work eith each day.”

Nominations opened on the 1st December and will remain open upto the 27th February 2012. The awards ceremony will take place on the 22nd March 2012 and will be held at the Rheged Centre in Penrith.
